2007 Emerald City Conference in Seattle, October 2007

With Jane Porter two hours before she made us all
laugh, cry and rise to our feet for a standing ovation at her Sunday luncheon speech.
Jennie Lucas and Jane PorterWith Superromance author and fellow Wet Noodle Posse member Terry McLaughlin and my
critique partner, 2002 Golden Heart finalist Tatia Talbot. Terry's on the left, Tatia's on the right, and I'm the tall girl wearing high heels in the middle.

At the last event of the conference, the entire ballroom was electrified by the Cherry Adair challenge! (To read more about that, check out my three most inspiring moments at Emerald City.)
With USA-bestselling romantic adventure author, the wonderful Cherry Adair.
At the bookfair with one of my longtime idols, NYT-bestselling Regency author Julia Quinn! I've been a fan for ages--even before I found out that we went to the same high school, three years apart. (We even had the same English teacher!)
I was on deadline, so spent much of the conference sitting in the hotel bar with my manuscript and a pot of coffee. But eventually, I had no choice but to have a couple of mojitos with some friends! Here are three women who are really fun to drink with: (from left) NYT-bestselling contemporary author Rachel Gibson, Golden Heart winner Candis Terry, and Avon historical author Laura Lee Guhrke.
